While Malibu Barbee was getting her tires rotated at Discount Tire this morning, Jingle and I went for a walk. I couldn’t help but notice a young mom, with a cute little boy, that was very upset because she couldn’t afford the new tires that she needed. Later I talked to her for a moment outside. I told her I had been in that spot, and I hoped her day would get better. At the prompting of the Holy Spirit (it sure wasn’t prompted by the balance in my checking account), I went inside and asked the manager if I could donate to her cause. He said if I did, he’d match it. Ha ha! It was so much fun doing that, and thinking about the look on her face when she finds out. Live sent, people! I pray that we would be the church in our community!
I was the church at 9:45 this morning!

That is awesome that he matched it nice going Lynn. I felt God’s prompting while I was in line at star bucks this morning (which I am not usually in) hope that lady has a great day to. Although I would have to say new tires would be better!!! 😉
I have been the recipient of so much more. And no, I didn’t pay her whole bill! Once, when I was newly divorced, and my car had been newly totaled, my community group leader called to let me know that someone wanted to help me out. She had been given some cash to pass along to me. It was a THOUSAND DOLLARS.
What a nice thing to do, Lynn
Mylene, it wasn’t a lot, and it really isn’t about the money. We are the church all day long. I know you are. I’ve seen it!
Lynn, what better way to be His love, to give sacrificially where it really matters to most people. Money speaks volumes in this society, and you were loud and clear of what taking Jesus to the streets really means! Think about the trickle effect of your blessing to this women; by the time she and the manager share the events of their day and then they tell two friends, who tell two friends, who tell two friends…..
I adore your spirit Lynn!
Thanks, Judy. I still smile when I think of it. Clearly I received more than I gave, and I hope it made her day!
