This afternoon a baby bird was found on the ground in our garden department. The nest was pretty high up there, too high for any of us to even think of putting Baby back in the nest. And he was injured. As busy as we were today, I didn’t have time to think of doing anything about it. I started to wonder, though, what percentage of baby birds doesn’t make it after leaving the nest? And then I wondered, because my mind segues in strange ways, what’s the percentage of new Christians, who leave the nest and struggle with their baby faith, and soon fade away? Either by their own neglect, because they don’t invest in their new faith, or because others neglect them, and they are forgotten.
Just thinking out loud on my keyboard.
Pray for those you know who are new to Christ, or who have a budding faith. Pray for a mentor for them. Maybe God will tell you that you can be that mentor. Pray for good Christian friends and good examples of faith. And take a moment to go out of your way to encourage and pray for them.
Baby has to leave the nest, but pray for wings, not hard ground.
What a nice remember to be alert for new baby Christians !
