Measure of a Man
I come late to a lot of pop culture trends. I just recently heard a Clay Aiken CD, and was intrigued by one of the songs. It asks “would he walk on water, would he run through fire?” and other questions to measure a man. Although I’ve never had need of a man to do either of these things, the thought is nice. How does God measure a man, though? If you are a husband, does God ask you to get your wife a cup of coffee in the morning? Fill up her car’s gas tank? Let her sleep when the baby’s awake at 3 am? Clean off her car on a snowy day? Here’s where the rubber meets the road.”Lord, I pray for men to love their wives as you loved the church, and show the world what you look like. I pray for men to be strong, yet gentle at the same time, like you! I pray for families to stick together and stay together. Our world is so hard on families!”
